Corruption Charges

2015 Federal Indictment

In April 2015, Menendez was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of bribery, conspiracy, and false statements. The charges were related to his alleged involvement in a scheme in which he accepted bribes from a wealthy eye doctor in exchange for using his political influence to advance the doctor's business interests.
